i drove into portland from santa cruz last night i drove straight through our 5,000th mile (we will probably drive another 5,000 miles home)
since it was one of our first true days off we slept and got drunk, finally. we drank and drunk dialed the east coast at an inappropriate time.
we are not broke but the sun is coming out
i am sleepy
and everything was fine

i was wearing lucky underwear
we almost died tonight and it was scary. glenna was sleeping and woke up to me saying oh god oh god
our car swerved, turned 180 degrees right onto oncoming traffic. i had to get out and try and breathe a little so i did and then we got back on the road
then someone crashed right into us. glenna was screaming.
randy came and drove us to the venue he is our little angel he put cardboard and tape to cover the shattered back window.
my guitar is a little fucked up.
when we got to the venue all of our equipment was soaked
i spent the first ten minutes in the bathroom stall, shaking uncontrollably

poor wanderin one
when it gets late i'm weird always consistently weird in the same way
the repetition is embarrassing
late nights are always late nights but they are becoming more and more of a big pain
albeit easier to avoid
sleeping eight hours a night is a new, beautiful, fucking amazing thing!
sometimes i still have insomnia but its rarer and sort of comforting to know its not just me and the destruction etc
tonight brendan, james, and i spent too many hours in the asbestos filled basement of battey street but it was worth every minute for now there are amazing organ solos on my new cd.
james is asleep on my floor and its nice not even a little sad to hear familiar sounds its nice even the snores
ok well maybe i've the tiniest sigh but i'm a big sigher and its late
liz go sigh yourself to sleep ok

today was almost perfect and so must be recorded for future reference:
early rise, trip for large coffee and bagel
new song written and recorded!
the gym (actually humiliating and it broke my spirit but my spirit is a pussy so it goes)
an hour and a half of yoga class with kyla where they give you eye pillows
large burritos with than, kyla, marguerite, and little baby elska
shitty $1.99 movie at the Patriot, one large corona
goodnights, hot shower,
pajamas
one half chocolate eclair

mama mia
with nothin but time on my hands and enclosed by suburbs, ive been re-learning how to play my parents piano. i've taught myself how to play the opening from philip glass's glassworks, metamorphosis I and sorta II, Yann Tiersen's Valse de Amelie, and am beginning Satie's Gymnopedies I and Gnossiennes I. if only i had the fingers and wing span of rachmaninoff.
also, i want to write a musical and dance around a streetlight
like in singin in the rain or west side story

tongue tied
tongue tied and struggling to speak has become
a small side project
ive been recording all my words backwards
and then reversing them right side forwards
http://www.box.net/shared/co6a90hshr
avoid octave doubling as it can cause an emphasis and therefore be interpreted as root of all evil
http://www.box.net/shared/yiau597vxe
this one has all natural english, but its hiding
http://www.box.net/shared/odk70mqvts
i spent hours trying to phonetically write out proper reverse pronunciation and it came out worse than ever.
